Plum : Plum, ume, blossom tells us the spring has come. "Plum blossom, recall me, When it blows in the spring ---" 9th century politician and poet, Michizane Sugawara recites the famous poem, tanka, when he relegated. Some might think it is still cold yet, but that's because we are on the solar calendar now. Only Chinese and Japanese eat plum fruit; pikles, liquerur, candy. Plum pikles on rice is the most known fast food in Japan. The sour taste of plum pikles, ume-boshi, makes our mouths watered. Plum tree has rugged branches and small pretty flower on those. Cherry blossom move in wind graceful, while plum flower never sway. It doesn't decrease the beauty of plum, but the attractiveness of plum is the umbalaneced, pretty flower on strong branch, like small bird on muscle arm. Trunk : Big trunk is achieved by "lying brush technique". It need rugged style, sliding a brush strong, and stop in one breath, then start again. The place you stop brush, becomes bumps of wood. Branch : You need a brush stand. Gradually thinner line is needed. Flower : The side flower has three circle. The center one is bigger than others. Of white flower plum, flower can be drawn by line.
